GURUGRAM: A 27-year-old woman died after a speeding truck rammed into her two-wheeler near Wazirabad road on Saturday, police said. The woman was returning to her rented accommodation after attending the office when the accident took place. The impact of the collision was such that the woman fell metres away, while the truck driver fled the spot. The passers-by rushed her to the hospital where she succumbed to her injuries.
The woman’s husband Hari Kishen told police that his wife Poonam, a native of Rajasthan, worked at a private company in Gurugram's Sector 59 and the couple lived in a rented accommodation in the city.
When she didn’t return home on Saturday night, Kishen called her and a cop received the call and informed him that she had met with an accident. Kishen rushed to the hospital where he got to know that she had succumbed to her injuries.
Based on his complaint, the unidentified truck driver has been booked under IPC sections 279 (rash driving or riding on a public way) and 304 A (causing death by negligence) at Sector 65 police station.
“We have collected the CCTV footage from the camera installed in the area and are searching for the driver. He will be nabbed soon” said a police officer from Sector 65.
